Julian Assange

I can think of several people with Nobel Peace prizes who pale in comparison

That is a very poignant interview. Maybe Trump will make it all go away by absolving Assange of any crimes. Yes, I believe he is a political prisoner, and yes we do have political prisoners here. The one that comes to mind is the filmmaker who directed the Mohammed youtube movie which Hillary blamed for the Libyan riots. My favorite quote of all times applies here also: “Show me the man and I will show you the crime.” Lavrenti Beria who was Stalin’s secret police and precursor to the GRU and KGB.

Assange was a somewhat amorphous concept to me. That interview really fleshed him out a lot. It’s probable that if Trump drops all the US threats that in the future that Assange could go after Trump, but that’s OK. The central theme of Wikileaks have been to expose when governments are doing one thing in public and the opposite in private. The email that states as a fact that the Saudi government is supporting ISIS has been widely believed but there it is in black and white.

That leads into Donald Trump playing catchup. He has apparently had communications with Moscow and said he is going to cut off all support for the (John McCain) moderate rebels in Syria and the US and Russia will work together to “knock the hell out of ISIS” – but that gets more complicated if you realize ISIS is a proxy of Saudi Arabia. Iran has offered to go after ISIS to they extent of their military capability and they have significant influence in Iraq, but we keep rebuffing Iran for different reasons.
