Things left out of the story – they live in a public housing project, they’re African American and they’re lesbians. Connecticut was among the first states to pass gay marriage. I wonder if moms getting AFDC, Section 8, WIC, Medicaid, Head Start, and Food Stamps lose that if they marry their “partner”
Thank you LBJ for starting the war on Poverty. These programs, that Art mentions, (plus free cell phones) have actually given us a whole new social class, that is lower than just poor people.
I know some good god fearing lower income ‘friends’ that work hard, and take care of them selves. No gov’t cheese or handouts accepted. So stories like this don’t happen to people because they are poor and need help.
