Federal rules require radio stations to sell political ads to all qualified candidates for the 60 days prior to an election at the “lowest published rate”, which is probably fiction, but here is a sample rate card

Any questions?
Back in the mid 50s when I was in HS I used to buy 1 hr from WIAC on SUN afternoon for $25-$30 then would look for sponsors for a classical music 1 hr show hosted by me. I would collect $10-$15 for 2 – 1 minute commercials written by the sponsor. I would make net around $100 per week. Not a whole lot today but an incredible amount of money for a little kid. I also did some TV and theater. I did that for about 3 years until dad and mom got transferred to Ft. Hamilton, NY. It was the kind of fun I will never forget. I was rich (acc to me and a true legend in my own mind) and should have returned to the island after college, but never did. My dad had specific plans for me and it did not include radio or TV.
