  1. Fred Stiening says:

Rumors are getting very loud that Entercom is about to acquire CBS radio. Nobody with a clue would buy into a CBS radio IPO with Sumner Redstone in control, given the feud between his daughter and his ex girlfriend.

Entercom and CBS would be a good match. Entercom knows big market radio.

Entercom is publicly traded – symbol ETM. Nothing said on this web site should be considered to be financial advice. The market may decide that the deal is bad for Entercom and the stock may drop. Don’t dabble in the market unless you’re prepared to ride the roller coaster

  2. Interesting that the show title is changing from “America Now with Meghan McCain” to “Buck Sexton with America Now.”

    • Fred Stiening says:

Meghan has left the building. It’s all official.

I wonder what Andy Dean is doing these days…

For 1000 radio trivia points, who had that time slot on premiere before Andy Dean?

  3. CBS Radio has announced that it is merging into Entercom. I am going to try to post the link to the CBS release here, let’s see if it works: http://www.cbscorporation.com/2017/02/cbs-corporation-and-entercom-announce-merger-of-cbs-radio-with-entercom-to-create-preeminent-radio-platform/

    • Fred Stiening says:

That’s why people come here – get the news before it is news.

I bought 250 shares of Entercom yesterday. It is up 11% today

The Howie Carr show should be interesting. Entercom should look into creating its own syndicated talk lineup. If I were running Entercom, I would convert WINS-AM into the flagship station to compete directly against Clear Channel and Cumulus. Right place at right time

  4. CBS Radio has announced that it is merging into Entercom. I have put a link to the CBS release in a post which is awaiting moderation.
