Website Status

Most blog readers (all ~6 of you) know that about six months ago, I turned off the streaming radio guide that is the progeny of FindAnISP.com. The amount of work was excessive and incompatible with the obligations of being a husband.

About two weeks ago, one of the surviving streaming companies (hosting around 1,200 stations) approached me about “taking over” the website. It was a very preliminary exchange, and I indicated I needed to discuss it with my wife (Countess). I have explored both the option of letting the site be acquired or bringing it back in some limited form. Neither discussion was fruitful.

The observant amoung you may have noticed the absence of the Countess here. She has been fully occupied with things that are apparently more important than the Radio directory or the blog. Her support is necessary in any decision I make.

Perhaps she will give me a stronger opinion soon, but it is safe to assume that change is in the air…

FWIW – You have my support in whatever you decide. I’d like to see you take over the streaming company’s website or be involved in some way. Would hate to lose your radio expertise and the Spaceman updates via Parrott. 😉

    Seek happiness!

Not necessarily related, but certainly coincidental and appropriate, it occurred to me (in the wee hours this morning) that you and countess have an anniversary approaching…

Without going into details, my wife had a TIA a few weeks ago. It reminded us that what really matters is: when you’ve found that special companion later in life, spend as much of your remaining time together as practical, and let go of things that are impractical.

Two words sum up my advice regarding your future with SRG : licensing & royalties. 🙂

If there is anything we should have learned from Donald Trump, it is the value of “branding”.

Because of the way Social Security Disability works, there might be value in a small income stream spread over three years, if I decided to hop on the handout bandwagon. Currently, there is no motivation for additional income due to the current structure of Obamacare pricing.

The clock is ticking on Clear Channel possibly doing Chapter 11 next month. In my perfect world, the stupid 1996 changes that created the Cumulus and Clear Channel monsters would unravel and stations would devolve back to regional and local ownership

My cousin in Boston had a TIA that somehow was detected by his Apple Watc. He went to the hospital is now on blood thinners for the rest of his natural life.

dear chairman: just read about your wife. stopping now to pray.

Thank you Countess, she’s doing fine. She’s been very fit all her life: yoga, walks 2x daily, and her health/vital stats are ideal… yet it happened suddenly, without any typical F.A.S.T. symptoms. They did all the usual tests (CT, MRI, etc), everything was clear. She’s now on 1 aspirin daily (perpetuity) and a statin for 30 days.

    dear chairman: god heard.
you and mrs. chairman are in our hearts. please tell her.

The future is bright no matter the choice. What I hold most dear is the band of friends here on the blog. God bless Fred, Countess, the Chairman, CC, Parrott, and all others who rest a weary eye here.

Possibly related – Triton Digital (not the company that approached me) is merging with the .uk based audioBoom to form a publicly traded company that will be listed on the AIM submarket of the London Stock Exchange. By folding into a smaller British firm, Triton avoids having to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations. Patent trolls may be another issue.
