Jay is not a cookie cutter radio announcer. He has been a fixture in Boston talk for a long time. Jay is not a movement Conservative – he’s more Libertarian than Republican.
He got himself suspended over at WTKK-FM, the most recent time for bragging that he had sex with an unnamed woman (gasp!) who worked for his company decades ago, long before he joined the radio station. In today’s PC world, a woman choosing to have sex with her boss is defacto sexual harassment by the man and has no statute of limitations. The current Program Director who fired Jay is a woman.
So Jay has landed at Clear Channel’s AM “Rush Radio” station starting Thursday – WXKS-AM still has barely measurable ratings. Hannity gets pushed back three hours and Andy Dean (America Now) gets tossed overboard – that was fast!
Jay had a national syndication deal a few years ago, but he tore it up when WTKK gave him a long term contract for big money. He might be more interesting in syndication than Andy Dean. He actually has experience doing the job.
Lemme guess. The female who fired Jay was a chimera with the face of a mastiff, the body of a walrus, legs like 55-gallon drums, the disposition of a yellow jacket, who uses Nair by the quart and perfume that peels paint, and who was annoyed at not being so favored. Rush is right.
I don’t know enough about her to have an opinion.
Her name is Grace Blazer – she came to Boston in 2007 after 11 years at WPHT in Philadelphia – when the CBS FreeFM thing was being dismembered. She arrived just in time to deal with the Howie Carr mess. I can’t find a picture of her online, for whatever that’s worth. Her college was at the University of Pittsburgh – no idea what her major was.

At some point, she also gave a job to Mel Robbins, another middle of the night female host who tried syndication and was never able to generate an audience.
