How far radio has fallen. WABC-AM has less of a news operation than WVOD-FM in Manteo North Carolina.
Gone are George Weber (dead),, Babita Hariani (raising her children)…. with Mornings being done by Doug McIntyre from Los Angeles and Don Imus from Arizona, Rush from Florida, Levin from Virginia, there is basically nobody left actually working at the station.
What I heard out in the car was a weekend guy doing a stream of consciousness of scare mongering…. “If you haven’t done anything yet, your time is up”… [18 hours before landfall]… “All the Stores are closed” (Not in Connecticut)
No experts, no news conference with the City, no reporters checking on conditions…. just a guy inside a radio studio with no windows telling you what he thinks is going on by watching a TV monitor. No people calling in telling what they are seeing, no interview with the Red Cross, not indicating where shelters are, no Twitter Feed being monitored.
WABC-AM gets an “F”. Switch your programming to K-Love.
