So with nothing else to do and the Mayor ordering that I may not leave my house due to the 25 mph gusts….. I’m thinking… now would be a good time to “Transfer” my “stuff” from my XP to the new Windows 7 box. Perhaps the XP machine would be more stable as the Fedora server.
Partway through copying the “Shared” stuff, it stopped and demanded that I Enter The User Password for [Computer Name] and [User Name]. It was very clear that it wanted my Windows User Password on the old machine. It wouldn’t accept it. Checked caps lock. Nope. Typed it a few more times just for good measure.
After doing research, I found out the answer turns out to be… when it tries to copy across the “iTunes Library”, it was really prompting me to enter my iTunes password – since I’m a weird person who doesn’t use “password” as my password, and every password is different, my iTunes password is not the same as my windows user password and I got “caught”.
I should probably create a blog category “Why I’m growing to hate Microsoft”
There is still time for Saint Jobs to save you. Repent!
