This is iHeartRadio concert weekend

Before Bob Pittman made Century 21 Real Estate and AOL household names, he was a young man programming radio stations and was very good at it.

Now the VP of something or other at Clear Channel, he has rounded up an amazing list of music groups for a 2 day free concert in Las Vegas, and has the 800 or so Clear Channel radio stations at his disposal to promote the event.

Among the folks who will be performing, there will be Lady Gaga, Coldplay, Black Eyed Peas, Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, and probably a dozen others.

So my 50+ year old readers are yawning right about now, saying “Who?”.

Ryan Seacrest is hosting this event and characterizing it as important as Woodstock was to the Baby Boom Generation.   This whole thing is to relaunch the iHeartRadio platform that is going to be as important to the future of radio as TiVo was for Television.

The younger generation is about to take control of their future.   It’s about time.

From Woodstock to ‘Vegas… from Grace Slick to Lady Gaga?

Somehow, I think they’ve already sold their future.

The official iHeartRadio app is released. The reviews in the ITunes store are very bad. Unless you link the app to a Facebook account, it won’t do much

I’ll take Grace Slick – she has class.

Obama sold the younger generation down the river. What they do now won’t matter for at least a decade.

    What’s a TiVo? 🙂
