France: We need to protect “Civilians” in Syria

War-mongering France now wants international action to “protect civilians” from their government with direct military intervention.

France has a bit more of a history with Syria than in Libya.   Following World War 1, the League of Nations turned over what is now Lebanon to France after the fall of the Ottomon empire.  The country is partly Christian because it was settled by Crusaders who wanted to “Take Back the Holy Lands” and didn’t return to Europe.

Following World War II, Lebanon was given its independence and France withdrew its troops from the “occupied territories” in 1948.  Beirut used to be called “the Paris of the Middle East”.    The country has been involved with an on again, off again civil war ever since – pitting the Christian militias (with support from Israel and Ronald Reagan) against the muslims (who will utlimately win the war by having a staggeringly high birth rate).

Syria has been heavily involved in the situation in Lebanon for the last decade, essentially militarily occupying the country and running the government.   That alone is enough of a reason that France wants “someone” to intervene.

The more I read about France, the more I realize that they often fight their wars through proxies rather than the sacrifices of their own people – Black African soldiers consripted into service in their colonies (is that slavery?), mercenaries  or encouraging rebellion within the colonies of their adversaries – usually England.
