Who is the new host that Lew Dickey has hired to “fix” the out of balance WABC-AM in New York?
Geraldo Rivera.
Yes, the one you are thinking of. The guy with no radio experience. Radio is not TV without the pictures.
Over at Dial Global, the purge of former Westwood One people is under way. Dial Global is improving its balance by giving Doug Urbanski the quick exit – another person vaulted straight into national radio syndication with no prior radio experience – just a resume that said he could talk like a Conservative.
Oh, and Dial Global’s Clark Howard is cutting back from 3 hours a day to two.
Oh, and Dr Ben Watterburg, released by Cumulus from KGO is showing up on KSCO-AM, a legendary station in Santa Cruz – with the owner inviting the other KGO hosts to consider working there.
Oh, and Spencer Hughes (of Fox Radio) has a weekend job at KGO… And Stacy Taylor… y
Clark Howard has only been doing 2 hours the entire year, it turns out. Clark has been on the Savage plan where you do only two hours and the syndicator puts together the third hour from reruns, taped interviews, etc… That’s the scoop in Tom Taylor’s newsletter. The only thing changing is WSB will drop the 3rd hour and carry Hannity live.
Geraldo will also be on KABC in Los Angrles, but not live
Tom Taylor is now backing awaay from that, and it looks like Geraldo will be New York only
