Over in Eastern Africa, the fight over water rights to the Nile River looks more and more like it may become a shooting war soon. Ethiopia looks to Egypt as being nothing but “colonial clerks” for English colonialism.
Anyone else remember Halie Selassi and fascist Italy’s attempt to crush Ethiopia in the 1930s? Time to pull out the history book and reread about the League of Nations and why it failed.
On an only tangential note, the curious narrow gauge stream railroad in Eritrea that was built by the Italians to supply their troops trying to colonize Ehthiopia and fight the English is in the process of being rebuilt – in the hope that it might some day be extended to the capital of Sudan.
