Last night, Phil Hendrie on his syndicated show repeatedly referred to himself as a Conservative and “we Conservatives” do this or do that.
Phil apparently thinks that nobody in his national audience knows he does a local “progressive” talk show on KTLK-AM in Los Angeles just before his national show.
Phil did support George Bush in Iraq – at one point creating a web site called GeorgeBushIsGod.com which he got tired of fairly quickly.
Phil is just confused about what he is.
I didn’ t know Phil was still around…
I first caught him sometime around 9/11 I think, and he was known then as a liberal, although his show rarely touched on politics.
I think he’s just an interesting and entertaining personality
He left Clear Channel to pursue a TV career that fizzled out, along with his marriage.
He is now working for Talk Radio Network doing a show from 1-4 AM (Eastern). In the beginning, he tried to do a straight political talk show – but his foundation in history, current events and political thought is so weak, he just flailed around and the weakest caller to challenge him on something turned into an embarrassment.
So after several months of that, he slipped back into his old show format – without the disclaimer about what the show really is. So now he gets lots of entertaining callers. Last night, he did an hour of trying to be serious.
maybe one of his “callers” could help him straighten it out
As a one time ‘gloid, I have to say that Mr. Hendrie is only funny when he has good writers and producers.
