Black Megachurch preacher Creflo Dollar was arrested by police for a superficial skin injury to the neck of his daughter.
The story mentions the odd detail that in 2007,Senator Grassley (R-IA) has been on his case demanding to know details of the finances of the church. What that has to do with this story is nothing – but tells you a lot about the motives of the journalist.
This guy is no different than Swaggart, Bakker, et al. They preach prosperity and they are good at getting people to reach into their pockets. I missed my call in life, but it’s never too late, so folks, if you send me a “love donation” of $20 I will send you a dollar blessed and anointed with god’s holy spirit. And… if you send me $100 I will send you a plastic replica of a holy temple shekel that was minted 2000 years ago. But that’s not all…
His audience appears to be middle and upper class Black people, typical of suburban Atlanta and the people in the black community least likely to find Socialism attractive.
Since you’ve watched him in order to form your opinion, how is he more like Jimmy Swaggart than like Billy Graham or Jerry Falwell or Pat Roberston? Or were you just lumping everyone together?
I just couldn’t remember the rest of the motley crew. I believe these evangelists are in for just one thing, MONEY. They live quite well and even have created their own universities supported by the “love donations”. In my opinion… this is just a racket supported by lemmings who cannot stand on their own and believe there is “a friend in the sky” that will reward them. Mythology and nothing else!
Most people in the trade if you can call it that
are not millionaires with these huge churches.
All over the country these lemmings
help support their local congregations
help feed the poor and help the sick have
some hope.
