I slammed off my radio last night

My ‘real” radio, that is.   I was out in the kitchen and flipped over my battery powered Google Radio (a gift for having been an advertiser and publisher of theirs – I also have a Google beach towel!)

I try really hard to ignore my impulses to “censor” the directory, but I got really really close – the subject of my ire was Mark Levin.

I don’t slightly like the policies of the current President of the United States and his administration, but he is the President.    Levin cut to a news conference President Obama  was giving and then played a “cookoo bird” sound effect, then two equally obnoxious and disrespectful sound effects.

If it had been a recording, or if the sound effect was tied to the words that were being said after the fact and tied to an explanation, maybe I would cut Levin some slack – but it was a live press conference (I’m thinking it was the G20 meeting).   I wanted to hear the President to see what he is likely to do next about the unfolding financial crisis and perhaps something about Syria – and all Levin was doing was showing disrespect to the President of the United States in his official capacity on probably one of the most important days of his tenure.

If you think getting President Obama out of office is important, doing stuff like this is not helpful.   To the hard core Levinites, nothing Mark Levin does is going to say or do is going to change their minds in November.

To the Obamabots, Levin is just reinforcing their belief that opposition to Obama is not based on what he is doing, but on the color of his skin – and push them more into Obama’s camp.   The recent immigration announcement and the anti-Catholic birth control mandate have significiant potential to break off some of the Democratic party death group on the black population.    What Levin did is just force any of those people starting to waver to return back to surround Obama and protect him.

I don’t think you need to worry because Levin’s show is pretty light in listeners. He’s nothing but a blowhard anyway. I liked him for a while, now I despise him. His voice is like shards of glass inserted into my eyes and anus.

I stoppe listening to these screamers a long time ago. Besides, most of what they talk about is gleaned from national and international news plus comentary in such places as the American Thinker, Townhall, et al… So, I much rather read in peace and tranquility than listen to these deafening windbags.
