Since the other police have blue shirts, my assumption is the white shirt means “I’m the boss”.

It would be nice to have video of what provoked this, but it’s pretty hard to explain why a police officer would pursue a woman walking away from him and then punch her in the face, then arrest her for disorderly conduct. It was a video not much different than this that turned the US public against supporting South Vietnam.

If a “race war” starts in the United States, it is more likely that it will be Hispanics and blacks killing each other (see: Chicago). LA is now majority Hipanic and the recent immigrants are aggressively forcing blacks out of the city. That may be the larger context at work.

It’s worth pointing out that black and Spanish speaking are not mutually exclusive. In the Western hemisphere, the majority people of African ancestry speak a language other than English (Spanish, English, Portuguese, creole / French). It wasn’t the English ruling Cuba, Brazil and Haiti…
