This woman was mother of eight children by age 30. All her teeth had rotted out. She drank 5 two liter bottles a day. One 2 liter bottle of real Coke has 840 calories. There is no way she could consume that much – 4200 calories with no other food would create a weight gain of a pound a day (of course some of that could have been consumed making 8 babies)
On the other hand, diet Coke addiction is pretty well documented. Unlike Pepsi, coca cola has phosphoric acid, which is known to interfere with Calcium absorption and lower blood levels of phosphorus. Low levels of phosphorus (called hypophosphatemia) results in heart arrhythmias and cardiac myopathy, which is why this woman died.

Oh come on… One dumb 30 year old woman has a coca cola addiction and now we want to shut down the company?
I guess that’s typical of people’s mentalities nowadays. Look more at the article; she drank five, yes FIVE 2 liter bottles of coca cola a day. No normal person, I repeat no normal person drinks that much soda in a day.
I admit, I do drink soda, and I have no problem admitting it. But I drink one, or two or sometimes three cups or glasses of soda a day. I also drink several glasses of water a day, drink a lot of milk, and a lot of orange, apple and grape juice, as well as get regular excercise(when the weather is decent).
Why is it the company’s fault when someone gorges themself on that particular product. Ever heard of self control? Ever heard of moderation? Last I checked five two liter bottles of soda is anything but moderation.
Not to mention it seems like this woman had much bigger problems besides a soda addiction, considering she had eight kids before age 30. That really just screams white trash to me.

Don’t you think she was smart to instinctively avoid fluoridation and the damage it does to one’s intelligence?
