That would be because it is effective? Young people who produce college newspapers are not always as well exposed or well read as their elders.
I have listened to Rush for more than two decades, and find him to have a dry, tongue in cheek sense of humor that really requires some familiarity to fully appreciate.
As far as his political commentary, he is in agreement with his vast audience who support him with ratings, book and other product sales, and ongoing subscription to his website. As a result of his success, he supports a number of worthy causes, and buys lots of cigars. His critics should do so well.
In my life, I have attended a number of public events, including a bake sale, of all things, sponsored by Rush, and in my experience the quality of people and their behavior and my sense of personal safety at conservative functions is more to my taste than than at events peopled by those with other politics.

I drove out to Fort Collins from Michigan to attend Rushstock. I’m glad I did it – I have lots of memories of that day. One of the interesting ones was while driving down the Interstate, the AM station in North Platte Nebraska was giving away bumper stickers. They had a storefront on the Main Street and I stopped in. They were kind of surprised by the stream of people coming into town. That’s when it became clear it was going to turn out to be “really big”.

I spent the night in Denver and drove up the US highway when the rest area was full of Rush fans and reports of traffic jams on the freeway started coming in.

The assault on ‘conservative thought’ is advancing wherever a person looks. The article by Nicholas O’Donnell is an invasive attempt to ‘color’ people’s thinking and reality. By attacking Rush, the article attempts to divide students of Hillsdale College. Division of the ‘people’ is the MAIN goal of a community organizer.

So, what’s the proper course for Rush to take? Double-Down on the covert, re-make of ‘Operation Chaos’.
