Immediately after this conference call, the Secretary will continue with a conference call discussing the epidemic of childhood obesity. The call will wind up with a round panel discussion of childhood obesity caused by a fear of food insecurity. Guest panelist Scarlett O’Hara will discuss her quote of “If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill – As God is my witness, I’ll never be hungry again” and its relevance to contemporary society.
Oh yeah, gotta feed the children the GMO foods. The USDA’s Summer Food Service Program will ensure that children have access to ‘healthy food’ year round. No, no, no, ‘o Beasity’ will not be caused by any food insecurity.
What? You mean the Sequestration will have no impact on feeding children their daily allotment of GMO foods? Oh thank the Lord for that, but…but…but, surely they will not be allowed to have a White House Tour? Oh please, keep the ‘children’ out of the White House, ’cause of the terrible things happening there..
Interestingly, I was thinking the other day, we would get a cheap Roma tomato at Kroger or China-Mart, and if you didn’t eat it after a while I would throw it out with other food scraps. Deer or rabbits would eat some lettuce or apple peelings, but sometimes a tomato would roll under a dogwood or Lilac bush and sprout. Sometimes we would have tomatos way into late fall because they were protected from the frost.
I think the Roma’s nowadays are GMO. They do not spout, no vine at all. I think its that GMO thing where they do not re-seed themselves. I have noticed that the last five or six years.
Kinda scary. I plan to save some seeds out of one this spring and test to see if I can get it to grow,
Right now those poor people in North Korea would like a GMO Tomato.
Parrott
Careful, Parrott – you could be arrested for saving GMO seeds. Get with the program! It is subscription model. Its like cable TV where the cable company collects money from you for the free over-the-air channels.
I bought an apple at the store around thanksgiving. I sort of neglected it, sitting on the shelf in the cabinet at room temperature in the light of the kitchen. Around Christmas, I noticed it still had no smell of decay, no soft spots – so I just decided to let it sit there to see how long it would stay in that condition. I think I finally threw it out in late February, but it still wasn’t mushy or rotting. Apparently apples have now joined Twinkies in “things that last forever”
Did you have the food stored in a pyramid shaped structure? Perhaps a silver coated structure or connected to a Tesla coil?
Help me out, Art… Art Bell that is. 🙂
Parrott, Roma tomato’s are Heirloom, not GMO. I raise a lot of them each year. Every 2-3 years I save enough seeds for about 5-6 years of planting, then throw out the old seeds and keep the fresh seeds. I can send you a packet of what I’ve been raising for many years.
So you’re saying the answer to solving the food insecurity of food deserts is to build a food pyramid?
A pyramid scheme for food security seems more credible that a pyramid scheme for social security.
For the former, if it doesn’t work, the crooks will be around for punishment. For the latter, most of them will have passed away before the public catches on.
