I just heard a news report where NATO is backing off from the claim they were trying to kill Gaddafi. Similar to the way our President at first said Gaddafi must be killed and then changed it to he should just go away…for a long, long time…

I haven’t read much on the Asian conflict but there’s a feel of dry tinder to the whole situation.

    as per usual:

“Sens. Lindsey Graham, John McCain push for action in Libya”

South Carolina U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham on Sunday urged President Obama needs to ramp up operations in Libya.

Libya “looks like a stalemate,” Mr. Graham said. “The military’s strategy of taking U.S. air assets out of NATO I think was a big mistake. I’m glad the Predator drones are going to be used.”

    Lindsey Graham’s preference for decapitation:

…Mr. Graham said. “I think the focus should now be to cut the head of the snake off. That’s the quickest way to end this.”

Nonetheless, Obama may be moving toward something resembling a doctrine. One of his advisers described the President’s actions in Libya as “leading from behind.”

Very good read. The photo resembles a mug shot. It is clear to see through the hypocrisy. These same outlets who were calling for Bush’s head on a platter for his “warmongering” celebrate Obama’s “wisdom” for “humanitarian interventions”. Bush war = bad, Obama war = good.

Who really started it… sometimes a few photos are all one needs to ‘get the picture’.

The problem is getting the right photos.

Fortunately, someone had enough of a conscience to photograph the ‘media’ in action:

I still can’t figure what the end game is with all this. The massive uprising and collapse of the dollar have to be related.

I’ll offer theories, but I have no idea which are correct (if any)

      – the European Central Bank is about to fail – the only way they see to avoid it is to “freeze” all the assets of all the oil producing countries
      – Europe sees it is being alive by Islamic “invaders” that they invited in to scrub toilets a generation ago, and are flailing away at a way to rebuild the castle walls after the invaders are inside the gate [See: Ancient Roman Empire]
      – Israel is trying to avoid a war with Iran and is calling in some favors from the U.S. (France is not exactly warm to Israel, which suggests this is not the right answer)
      – China is getting too cozy buying up the resources of Africa and the E.U. wants them out of the neighborhood
      – Russia is going to announce the Soviet Union never went away, and it was all one big charade, and here come the tanks into Prague

    Send in the Viagra brigades!

US Ambassador to the UN accuses Gaddaffi of givings troops Viagra to encourage rape.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/04/29/us-libya-usa-viagra-idUSTRE73R7N420110429

My favorite quote from the above link:

“Several diplomats said Rice provided no evidence for the Viagra allegation, which they said was made in an attempt to persuade doubters the conflict in Libya was not just a standard civil war but a much nastier fight in which Gaddafi is not afraid to order his troops to commit heinous acts.”

New strategy: just make wild unsubstantiated claims? I would say that things are going just swimmingly for the “allies” wouldn’t you?

I especially enjoyed a few weeks ago the drama of the woman rushing into the lobby of the hotel where all the Western reporters were staying and screaming “The Libyan Army raped me!”. You can’t buy good drama like that. For the most part, I sense most of the western media (except for the ones from England) decided that was propoganda a step beyond what even they wanted to repeat.

Perhaps a few are old enough to remember the Kuwaiti “they’re killing the babies in the premie ward” hospital fabrications
