Coming soon – iHeartradio Talk

Jerry Del Colliano has said for weeks this is coming. Who needs Rush when people will create content for you for free?

Here is the Beta: http://www.iheart.com/#/create/talk/

Jerry today is hinting that Cumulus has the upper hand in the Rush Limbaugh deal. Clear Channel just replaced their Chief Financial Officer which suggests they may have issues to deal with – they still have somewhere between $16 and $20 billion in debt which has convenants requiring certain financial goals. Perhaps Lew Dickey has run the math and knows that if Premiere takes Rush “in house” from the Cumulus stations that it will trigger a default on the terms of the credit facility. Who knows?

100-1 odds you can not say, Sandra ‘da Slut’ Fluke 10 times without Fluking-up. Anyway, she has a boyfriend. His name is Adam “Cutie Pants” Mutterperl.

Well, that connects a lot of dots.

I understand it was all just political theater, but her testimony was not about “us paying for her condoms”, it was about her being forced to buy health insurance through Georgetown University’s own health plan and then excluding coverage for special long lasting birth control medications used to prevent severe menstrual cramps, unrelated to whether or not “her lesbian friend” was having sex.

Rush’s comments implying that the cost of female birth control goes up based on how much sex you have was ignorant.

I’m at a disadvantage on the situation since I did not hear the exchange Rush had with the caller. Your last sentence underscores just how easy it is to misunderstand what a person ‘thinks’ they heard, compared to what was actually spoken. Rush typically asks a caller to restate their comment when he doesn’t understand it.

Sure, we can fault Rush for a mistake, or for making a comment based on his own biases. Perhaps Fluke could have been more courteous and patient with Rush, who has a widely known hearing problem. Just goes to the mood of the participants in the struggle. For instance, is Fluke sympathetic to Rush’s underlying concerns about ObamaCare? Or, is Rush sympathetic to the struggle women have with medical issue? My take is they both have a huge burden to carry and need to curb their antagonisms against others. Sadly, we (humanity) are facing huge problems in learning how to relate to each other.

Anyway, the exchange between Fluke and Limbaugh will probably go down in history as the most overblown misunderstanding of the 21st century. Regrettable when compared to other more important and pressing issues swirling around all of us these days e.g., having our leaders watch people die in Ben Ghazie, in real time, while doing worse than nothing about it, and then running a world-wide cover-up and blaming a video that almost no one ever heard of or even watched, just sayin’

Maybe off topic- I have made my browsers ask me to activate flash so sites with autoplay won’t play videos unless i say to.
When I use any link from SRG to an iheart station , it will not play. It also does not ask me if I want to or not. Is there a workaround?
I like not having sites (like abc news, etc) just start playning their videos as soon as I go to their website.
I can do without iheart, but…….

    • Art Stone says:

It depends. Instead of clicking on the player link, click on the call sign and navigate to the station web site. If it is a Clear Channel station, you probably have no choice. If it is Cumulus, you’ll probably see a non-iHeart link to the Stream The World player. It might also be possible to white list them – don’t know what’s possible with what you’re using
