It’s 2:30 AM on Saturday morning in Charlotte NC. You’re a woman in the house with your young sleeping child. You hear a knock at the front door.
You open the door and see a 24 year old 5’10” 200 pound football player at your door.

I wonder how Morgan Fogarty – whose outgoing, all-American image propelled her to the circle of best-known broadcasters in Charlotte – covered the story.

Hot. I wonder if she knows what Qatar is like.
I wonder if she missed K & W in NYC.
The K&W jelly is to die for
Help him out with whatever he needed. I understand he had been in an accident. Was there another choice?
You could call 911 and have the police shoot him 20 times!
Here is the guy who was killed

An interesting aspect of this story is why the media thinks his being a football player is an important description of him. Florida A&M isn’t even a big football school and he wasn’t a significant player
For those not familiar, Florida A&M is a racially segregated university and the football team plays against other racially segregated universities in the Mideastern Athletic Conference – however this weekend they have a non-conference game with Ohio State.
Today I looked at the map and can add some more texture. Charlotte only fairly recently built I-485 around the city, and one part has not been built at all – it is waaaaay out in the country, which means it is already overloaded.
The area where this happened is a subdivision right next to the really rural part of I485 – exactly the kind of place where immigrant white people (Yankees) would want to live to never come in contact with black people (other than maybe their nanny)
Then you have a young black man from Florida who was deliberately protected from contact with white people allegedly trying to get help at 2:30 AM after totaling his car, not concerned with the level of concern he would cause by banging on doors
Mrs victim didn’t help things with her reaction that he was “trying to break down the door”. Then 3 police show up, shoot him 22 times, then order him down on the ground.
This type of misunderstanding wouldn’t have happened with people who grew up in public schools that were desegregated, at least I don’t think so. The police response was horrible, but increasingly common regardless of the situation – fire the tazer first, then ask questions.
What kind of mother gives a stuffed pooh bear to a 24 year old son?
Is that the pooh originally from Alberta…. near Winni-peg ?
The missing context of the question is the mom of the 24 year old guy who crashed his car at 2:30 am was trotted in front of the TV cameras with the Winni the Pooh doll she had been meaning to give her son. The ploy of the coming lawsuit couldn’t be more obvious.
One thing to keep in mind is the media again is running photos of this man in uniform while he was in school. Nobody is asking if he graduated, does he have a job, why did he move to NC, and why was he out driving at 2:30 am… I suspect there is a bit more to this story, but we are not likely to find out.
Well remember this one caveat, “Nothing good happens when youngsters are ‘out-and-about’ after Midnight.
What if you add some booze?
Booze is so old school. You’re whack. Word up.
Pooh picture

What would you do if you knew you had been robbed?

A prosecutor can get a Grand Jury to indict a ham sandwich, but not a police officer. The grand jury returned “no bill” on all counts, including lesser counts.
The toxicology reports on the crazy man showed he had caffeine and nicotine in his system. Case closed. He deserved to be shot 20 times.
(ok, there was ethanol too – booze)
When it comes to ethanol, anything goes. 😉

Mind re-posting another link, that does not lead to a blank page? Thanks.
That was a Reply to Art’s post, not CC’s. Sorry for any confusion.
Art’s does load, but it takes some time…. but speaking of Hi-test

The prior link was an iPad link.
The DA declared that the first grand jury was wrong, and got a new grand jury to indict the ham sandwich
