Some people (and I’m among them) think that Iraq and Afghanistan were largely training grounds to develop techniques to control an uncooperative civilian population for some future domestic mission to suppress resistance to the government.
The US Military is looking for equipment to quickly identify and knock out all AM and FM radio transmitters in an area:

Remember that some times paranoid people are right.
Do you think that the necessary number of U.S. military personnel would blindly follow orders to suppress resistance to the government by their fellow Americans?
Did you see what happened in April as Boston was ordered to “shelter in place”?
Let me craft a hypothetical – to fill the ranks to fight wars in the Middle East with non citizens from Mexico with the promise of a fast track to citizenship.
Let’s say an outright conflict starts with Mexico and Mexicans wearing US soldiers are told to shoot at their brothers in La Raza. How quickly could that devolve into chaos?
Really about all it would take is calling the tea party “domestic terrorists” – once the shooting starts, people will forget who started it and why. I think the Civil War also answers your question.
” calling the tea party “domestic terrorists” Yeah, that’s already happened. Also, never forget the advances made in technology.
FLIR is producing some awesome technology. Word to the wise.
There’s definitely reason for concern about the potential abuse of technology like this. A good start would be electing a president who doesn’t espouse the principles of Marxism.
off topic – Amazon’s same day delivery strategy seems to suffer a setback-

Maybe empty space in malls could be repurposed. You buy something online, go to the mall, show a bar code on your phone to a scanner like you can do now for airline checkin, and a door pops open and there is your purchase.
That is why Amazon dropped their opposition to collecting sales tax for out-of-state purchasers… and favors what amounts to a “purchase” tax based on the purchaser’s location.
