Driving past the Allstate Arena (formerly the Rosemont Arena) and noticed the World Wrestling E-something is putting on a show tonight. Parking is $20, cash only [IRS, are you listening?]
There is just not enough sports!

Is this blog meant to disparage wrestling? I’ve heard they charge $40 for parking and double drink prices at a local bar when they conduct Women’s Mud Wrestling events.
Well, to be honest the $20 price was posted in the early afternoon. Sometimes parking prices have been known to “float” based on supply on demand.
Like if you go to a carnival at 2 pm, the shoot the basketball in the basket that is impossible to win – you can get 3 tries for $.50, at 8 PM the same game charges $1 a shot.
The event organizers seem to have such bad luck. Rather than organize an event on a day when the Village of Rosemont is not charging for parking at its facility, the organizers always seem to find days when Village of Rosemont charges.
I liked “Haystack” Calhoun and Chief Jay Strongbow myself. Of course McMahon was an “announcer” in those days.
I think I looked it up and Wahoo McDaniel is dead. He was the designated local wrestler from Mooresville who usually put up a convincing fight, and then lost.
Wikipedia says that George H W Bush was Wahoo McDaniels’ baseball coach. Do I believe that?…. hmmmmm
I believe he was the original of the two Presidential wahoos. 😉
