Wow. Paying too much for content. Gotta accelerate the cost cutting 🙂

I started writing a blurb titled “what will Cumulus do with Westwood One?”

WWOne/Dial Global has Dirk Van & Jim Bohannon competing in the morning. They have the Progressive Talk lineup – Press, Schultz, Hartmann Stephanie Miller, then Clark Howard & Herman Cain from Cox Radio, and Dennis Miller and Phil Valentine.

I can’t see cumulus consuming two stations per market to create competing talk lineups. They also don’t seem all that interested in independent syndication.

If anyone didn’t notice yet, not one original ballweekday host is left at TRN. They’re using Bill Wattenburg, Sam Sorbo (yesterday Andrea Tantaros was a best of show, so maybe she found a clue), and Charles Butler playing the role of Black Tea Party supporter.

I don’t see how this turns out well for talk radio.

Hmmm – almost insignificant increase in revenue and a horrible EPS result. Call the Doctor – this looks like a DOA.
