Where do rights come from?

Thomas Jefferson laid the Foundation in the US Declaration of Independence that humans are endowed with inalienable rights by thir “Creator” just because they are alive. This declaration does not say “but only if you’re a Christian who is a US Citizen”. A Mexican living in the United States has those same inalienable rights.

If you accept the premise of universal human rights, how do we know what is on the list? Thomas Jefferson is dead and his pipeline to the Creator to receive instructions is gone, not to mention the US Constitution was not written by him. Are the Bill of Rights inalienable rights? Since they can be later be modified or repealed by the operation of government, clearly they are not.

Following the French Revolution, France attempted to lay down the Rights of Man

While it hits a few of the Jefferson ideas, it mostly sets forth all the ways governments can limit human rights for the Public Good.

Following World War Two, the Rockefellers pushed hard for the formation of the World Government called the United Nations, donating land on the Esst River in New York.

One of the first orders of business of the UN was to hammer out a document to define those inalienable human rights – not tied to any one country or which interpretation of “the Creator” people believe in. The resulting agreement is called the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Eleanor Roosevelt represented the US in drafting the agreement.

It contains some concepts borrowed directly from the US Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and then layers on socialist concepts like the right to a job that pays enough to sustain a dignified quality of life.

Among the rights it enumerates, are the right for men and women to marry and have children, for each person to have a right to decide their own religion, and the right to leave their own country and change their nationality.

So do gays have a right to marry? Do genetically defective people have a right to have 10 children they can’t take care of? Do we have a right to get medical care? What rights do corporations have?

What rights do corporations have? That is a very troubling question.
