Goldwater time

Media in Arizona report there will be a Trump campaign fundraiser at the ranch formerly owned by 1964 Republican Candidate Barry Goldwater.

Details

While I don’t trust Bloomberg’s poll, the CBS national poll just released is more credible – giving a +7% lead to Hillary when the choices are Hillary, Trump, and Libertarian Gary Johnson, now at 11%. The polling does not yet fully reflect the changes due to the Orlando massacre.

As the reality sinks in, the Bernie folks have to rethink their choice. I’m pretty sure the Libertarians are not proposing free college tuition.

With the +7 lead factored into my model, the electoral vote breaks 338-114. You have to get about +4% Trump for him to win. That seems unlikely.

In 1964, Goldwater received only 52 electoral votes.

Since the final Democratic vote is done, I expect no further Sanders vs Trump polls unless Hillary withdraws. Saudi Arabia has firm control over the Democratic nominee. Her name is Huma Abedin. She would meet the requirements to be Vice President.

Huma’s background is different than I was led to believe – her parents are Indian / Pakistani. She of course was born in the United States and is a Muslim. Pakistanis and Saudi Arabia are Sunni Muslims. Iranians are Shia and Persian (not Arab)

Roger Stone is pretty overtly saying that Huma is Hillary’s lesbian lover, and Saudi Arabia owns Hillary. The Iranian deal was done on Kerry’s watch.

Most Republicans know the Goldwater campaign slogan, “In your heart, you know he’s right”. Republicans seem to mention it every Presidential election.

What I didn’t know was President Johnson’s response to it. I am not a fan of this President Johnson, but I have to admit his response was brilliant: “In your guts, you know he’s nuts!” lmao

    Two more polls today…

    Rasmussen has Hillary up +5
    Reuters has Hillary up +10

If Reuters is right, the “safe” electoral votes are 338-80

The biggest “not sure” state at +10 is Texas – it gave Obama 41% in 2012

The best hope for Republicans is if Trump realizes his nomination means Hillary wins in a landslide. If he gives a speech and announces he is withdrawing because at the numbers don’t add up, he might contain the damage from his zealot supporters (those who are not working for Hillary)

At Hillary +10 and Trump needing +5 in his direction, raising money is going to get hard. While Trump is good at getting free media coverage, that doesn’t get Grandma in the nursing home a ballot

Corey got the shove off the bus today. I think that’s a good sign, and not because of any ill will. There was a book a few decades ago called the Peter Principle, that roughly says that all people will rise to the level where they become incompetent.

Corey did an incredibly fantastic job getting Trump this far, but it was long overdue to pass the ball to someone with experience organizing a national, campaign. The campaign director needs to befriending the 58 state chairman to pull together a cohesive campaign, not attending rallies and supervising the lighting. Jimmy Carter never understood why his job description didn’t him personally include scheduling the White House tennis court. With a campaign with several hundred million to raise and spend, and 1000s of people to organize, you can’t do that by texting on your cell phone.
