The order is out in the field that the Aegis cruiser should fire its long range missiles if North Korea launches its intermediate range missiles.

One of the prior success stories of the Aegis system was the successful shoot down of an Iranian civilian airplane in 1988

I went aboard a JMSDF destroyer in 1985 – They must have gotten some serious upgrades since then. They sure didn’t have the Aegis system, or I suspect they would have been bragging about it (was it even around in 85?).
Either way, I’m on their side – SHOOT THE BAS–RDS DOWN! Kim Jung Pud – or whatever Jr. Buzz-cut’s name is, needs some adjustments on his brazen, cocky attitude, anyway. Hey! Here’s an idea: Maybe Jr. will let one of his new B-Ball buds, like Rodman, ride the rocket out of the DPRK in a show of international sportsmanship (like Slim Pickens on the A-Bomb in Dr. Strangelove!)! I love it.
