Ditto heads invade Fire Chat!

If I’ve been scarce the past few days, I’ve been Community Organizing on Fire Chat. This app is what the Arab Spring wanted. When Mubarak turned off the Internet, this app would have allowed the crowd to continue to share information using Wifi Mesh. It is based on an open source project called Firebase.

So in the morning yesterda, a small cluster of people showed up when CNBC touted the app with the usual day trading addicts looking for a way to make a quick buck. After a few spam advertisements, they disbursed.

Then after lunch, all hell broke loose – Rush Limbaugh had mentioned the app and a flood of ditto heads arrived. The liberal scum immediately vanished. I did what I could to answer questions and things remained mostly civil. Fire Chat is anonymous – there is no registration, no buddy lists, no ignore list, nothing for the NSA to track [probably inaccurate], so you have to tolerate a certin amount of nonsense.

Since I didn’t hear what Rush said, I don’t know his point of view. At the close of the show he did give a shout out to the gang of ditto heads in Fire Chat.

What I found out shortly after (it’s hard to figure this out) is their profanity filter (which cannot be disabled) bans the word “God”. I’m not making that up.
