Wrong link – Toll roads? Yes, we need ever more taxes until there is no middle class left.

  2. Art Stone says:

There is another story that the highway “trust” fund is officially empty. The fuel taxes are only adequate to do maintenance projects, no new construction. Maybe if they stopped diverting road money into pet projects with no Interstate Commerce implications like bike paths, streetcar systems and urban mass transit, there would be money to deal with the roads.

The gasoline tax in SouthCarolina is $.25 a gallon less than in North Carolina, all of which shows up in the retail price.

That is what his advisor, corrupt swindler Jon Corzine proposed as govenor of NJ, but with a twist. Corzine wanted to sell the federal interstates (which NJ does not own) to a German company with no money. That German company would borrow the money from Corzine’s previous employer, Goldman Sachs and pay Goldman Sachs a transaction fee. NJ residents would also pay Corzine’s pervious employer a hefty transaction fee.

Goldman Sachs would be in a position to contribute to Corzine’s re-election campaign (as they had for his first election). Did I mention that there would be new jobs? Sure, to construct the new toll booths on the Federal highways. Enjoy the pics:

Art is exactly correct. Not enough gas Taxes is not the problem. Spending is the problem ! Hell, we have paid for the Interstate system probably three times over. I am not paying a toll on a road that we have already paid for. I wish the obo presidency was already over with and he and reggie Love could just slip away into quiet oblivion. I can’t think of one thing obo has done to improve the United States since taking office.
