Ah, it was a wonderful story – how a group of non-diverse kids ducking bullets every day in South Chicago won the Little League World Series, kicking European slavemaster ass. President Obama welcomed them at the White House

I remember looking at the team picture and noticing how all of the children seemed right at the edge of the 12 year old age limit – several were clearly well into puberty.
The issue was that Jackie Robinson West made up its own rules. Some of the players lived outside the area from with Jackie Robinson West was allowed to recruit. It was a cherry picked group of kids from a wider area.
President Obama says he stands behind his sons, no matter what the Little League rules say. We may never know the real story, you know.
