Radio Sales Math

Let’s pretend you own a business and I am a radio advertising salesman.

You operate a business with a small gross profit margin – for every dollar in sales, the incremental costs of selling the product – raw materials, direct labor, energy consumption are $.70. You have a 30% gross profit margin on sales. The 30% goes toward the fixed costs – the rent, taxes, labor costs if the store had no sales, debt service, etc – maybe – profit.

I walk in with carefully gathered data from a reputable third party that proves for each $1 you spend on radio advertising, your sales will go up by $3 for businesses like yours – it is a near certain Return On Investment (ROI) of of at least 3x.
