Channeling Horton the Elephant

“I mean what I Say and Say What I mean” Chris Christie or Horton the Elephant?

What I learned tonight in Whoville:

Neal Cavuto cares what mostly about what demonstrators outside want

Kasich is going to cut Federal Spending by lowerering taxes
Ben Carson loves his family
Jeb Bush is serious about getting serious
Libertarian Rand Paul wants to fight income equality
Everyone loves Ronald Reagan

The moderators just lost control of Kasich…

Who put the foreigner on the moderator panel? [the WSJ editorial board has very different opinions than the news reporters]

Rubio has a clue.

Cruz says Journalists would resent foreigners taking their jobs… in response to a foreign sounding journalist asking the question

I like Carly’s take on Health Care. Publish prices and outcomes. Information is power. Maria didn’t listen to her answer so she had to repeat it.

Cavuto is an ass.

Nobody understands how taxes actually work, especially for small business.

Cruz wants a 16% tax on imports. Good luck with the WTO letting that happen.

Enough with the anecdotes from “ordinary” people.

Rubio says being a parent is the most important job we can have, and we need to give moms more money so they can afford to ship their children off to child care

Rand Paul’s thinking is muddled about the military.

Finally, the TPP question for Trump. He’s against it. Shocking. Someone (Rand?) points out China is not part of the TPP. No response from Trump.

Carson wants war with Islam. Generals tell him it is easy. He seems to believe them.

Jeb Bush wants a no fly zone over Syria. Russia and China have seats on the UN Security Council. Syria is a sovereign country with an elected President. Where did rule of law go?

Trump is OK with Russia doing what they want in Syria.

Jeb Bush is not very bright. Maybe he just doesn’t do TV well.

Carly is a huge military hawk. No surprise there.

I’m having flashbacks to the 1950s.

Kasich likes the idea of supporting countries ruled by unelected kings.

References to Israel draw no audience applause.

Carly Fiarina would be a better manager than Hillary. We could do worse.

Kasich is in the wrong party. I’m not the first to point that out.

Senator Cruz would have let Bank of America fail, but can’t answer what would happen next. BofA has $2.1 trillion in deposits. The FDIC has enough cash to buy breakfast at McDonalds.

Rubio gives his stump speech and doesn’t respond to the Maria gushing about how much she loves Hillary softball question

Ben Carson is invisible. Having black skin and loving Jesus won’t win the election or make him capable of managing the government. Remember Bill Lucas.

It’s time for the summary

Rand Paul – designated gadfly but not ready to be President
Kasich – thinks government made America
Fiorina – aiming at Hillary
Jeb Bush – I’m not my brother
Ted Cruz – did you know my dad was Cuban? Obsessed with mentioning his web site
Marco Rubio – I’m not Barack Obama, but I’m thinking about tomorrow
Ben Carson – America sucks. I can stop that.
Trump – I’m funding my own campaign. Trust me.

I swear, every time Rubio spoke I heard Annie singing: “tomorrow, tomorrow…”. Jeb just wanted to go away but Daddy and Dubya plus the establishment are just putting him where he doesn’t want to go. You can almost feel the poor guy begging: “Please, let me go. Stop pushing me.”

I’m not sure Rubio will make my final cut. It’s more a case of he hasn’t given me a reason to write him off. His answers tended to be memorized mini speeches unrelated to the question he was asked. He has some chance of attracting the 60% of Americans who have no real idea what they believe

The Donald is just spewing forth what everyone wants to hear, which is quite different from what he REALLY is. The question is: “Are we replacing a narcissistic-in-chief with another of his ilk? I find this scary. I am really concerned about the state of our country in 10 more years. Hopefully, I will not be around. But let me scare you with my vision of the future…Hillary wins nomination and election…2 terms…Michelle in 2024…two terms…Chelsea in 2032…PLEASE SOMEBODY WAKE ME UP.

Won’t do it. Wouldn’t be prudent.

The evidence of the demographic shift is all around us. It isn’t the country we grew up in and that isn’t going to change, just get more divisive by racial identity politics. As nice a guy as he is, I don’t trust Carson. It’s impossible to be a black man growing up in America and not have anger at white people. At the debate, he was already invoking the “based on my experiences in the black community”… I don’t give a damn about Roe v Wade. 40 million women are not going to go “aha!” and agree they murdered their unborn child. My biggest contribution was to have never caused a pregnancy.

I really like Cruz. He is my choice for Prez!!
