You know, at the risk of being really inflammatory, I wonder if many Persians (aka Iranians) would support overthrowing Islamic rule. The Arabs invaded Persia and imposed Islam on what had been a thriving prosperous culture.
The US in fact has passed a law requiring sanctions against countries which make it illegal to change religions. Condaleeza Rice granted Saudi Arabia a waiver, where not being a Muslim is punishable by execution.
Let’s fight the real war instead of using proxies like Syria.
