While snooping around for new streams, I bumped into this station I read about in the Radio Biz press. It is a toss up whether the “establishment” radio hates SiriusXM or Pandora more. In both cases, Real Radio is pushing to maximize music costs for their competition, while buying off Congress people to keep their music performance royalty free.
Pandora came up with a novel legal strategy – buy a “real” radio station in the middle of nowhere, then declare that Pandora is a “Radio owner” entitled to the same streaming rates as Big Radio.
If you’re looking for rap music in Box Elder South Dakota (Population 7,800), you’re out of luck.

Okay, so a related question – is radio being overtaken with female stars? I looked and saw nothing but women on the playlist. Well, there was Justin Bieber – oh that’s right he might be a woman.
I listen to so little music, I don’t know. Back in the day, female artists would draw in the men who had the money to spend. With young men systematically being squeezed out of universities and the work force, it’s hard to know what the rules are. Colleges used to be understood at least in part as the place that couples met and chose their lifetime partner. Now the lesbian professors actively work to prevent all heterosexual contact, almost like ISiS
Aha! ISIS lives and it is attacking our mush-headed youth. Savages!

Tom Leykis is an interesting guy. I would like to believe he’s wrong, but….
