Pandora veered into country music. So many obvious things I could say.

That song was always the kindler, gentler cousin to this:

Of course this is how we are thought of:

I think your former alter ego might be the guy in the sunglasses. Also, interesting to see those Soo Line engines still operating in their livery about 30 years after they were painted.
Here are pictures of that locomotive going back to 1982

CP probably is keeping the invasion hush-hush
Europeans have the flyover country disease even worse. “The US should have a passenger rail system like Europe!”… Do you have any idea how big this country is?
The Pandora “station” was seeded by me choosing “Proud to be an American”
The disconnect for me is the idea that people who listen to country music watch CNN. Country music is a curious type of music, especially when big commercial interests jump in to “fix” it. One of my “poll” questions dances around why so few country songs mention guns.
The one in the foreground is even older – it was built in 1978

Based on the picture locations, it looks like they mostly go between Chicago and Minneapolis. General Mills is a major industry in the Twin Cities. That would be my guess where that video was shot
Filling in some more nit picking – the lyrics of the song refer to a “Santa fe” train while showing a pair of Soo line locomotives. 😉
Of course, neither Iran nor Iraq had anything to do with 9/11, but “Fox News” probably doesn’t match the song.
I thought that originally, but I looked up the airplanes, and it was shot around Smyrna, TN. http://tasteofcountry.com/jason-aldean-fly-over-states-video-graveyard/
Going totally over the edge, there is a shot of a car carrying some kind of hoses – it has the ID of ATW 50344. ATW is the Reporting Mark of the Atlantic & Western, which owns 10 miles of track in North Carolina. The actual purpose of the railroad is to provide legal cover for rail car leasing operations involving Bank of America and Deutsche Bank

The back story of why Rosalee Holmes has a 1000 page leasing agreement on a web site is an interesting story by itself

“My Faith Is Larger Than A Mustard Seed-I Will Prevail”
Although there have been proposals to change it, I think, much like the rent a car business, railcar leasing offers a chance to get the accelerated depreciation for the banks.

There is a shortage of plain boxcars. They currently have to be removed after 50 years of service. http://www.wsj.com/articles/why-railroads-cant-keep-enough-boxcars-in-service-1434879182
Way too much of the world is being driven by tax laws and irrelevant metrics and government policy.. From the perspective of the railroads, it keeps the costs of the cars off their books. For the most part, railroads now view themselves as a package delivery service. Back in the early days of the “robber barons”, the railroad likely owned the mine, the town where the miners lived, the steel mill and the company that used the steel.
There was an incident about a week ago that is instructive that happened in Texas on a very similar short line railroad. Their primary business is storing rail cars on useless tracks that don’t go anywhere. A strong wind came through and knocked over around 60 brand new hopper cars that are owned by Chevron Phillips chemical. The cars are brand new, empty, and probably have been sitting there for years.

http://www.anrrr.com/
To understand why this happened, the pictures show one thing that may surprise people – the wheels on (most?) rail cars are not attached to the cars. The car bodies stay on the trucks only by the weight of the body. Another thing not understood especially if you played with toy trains as a child is couplers are usually attached to the frame, not the trucks. The cars on the bridge were in a wind tunnel unprotected. When the wind hit the empty cars from the side, they blew over. Because all of the cars are connected by couplers, empty and only gravity holding things in place, the entire “train” wound up on its side
Broken Bow Records tickled a synapse which was clinging to a memory that was accurate
http://www.iheartmedia.com/pages/Clear-Channel-and-BBR-Music-Group-Imprints-Broken-Bow-And-Stoney-Creek-Records-Announce-Revenue-Sharing-Agreement.aspx
They cut a direct deal with Clear Channel – I’m not saying that’s why he has a song getting airplay, but I’m also not not saying it
The locomotives are a little linked to you. Several links say the rail part was shot in Bensenville Il in late 2011 early 2012. https://www.flickr.com/photos/southshorerailfan/6791915322
Bensenville is very close to where I was considering buying a condo if I had stayed in Illinois. Bensenville used to be a major rail yard used to “hump” cars – the transformation of the railroad business – consolidation, replacing boxcars with containers and smarter operations mean Bensonville is now a place where you would base a 45 year old locomotive.
