Polkas on radio

WTKM-AM is being sold. Around the country, there still a handful of stations that stand out as not corporate cookie cutters – KCAA-AM, KTAE-AM, WBCR-AM, KHCR-AM, WMEL-AM come to mind.

Another you may bump into if you do a lot of testing is WTKM in Wisconsin – a good part of day they play polka music – lots and lots of polka music.

Well, the AM and FM stations are being sold (subject to FCC approval) . It’s a bit complex (see the post about the difficulty of comparables)

The buyer is paying $150,000 for the real estate, and $1.65 million for the stations – $85k in Escrow, $665k n cash at closing, a $900k note, and $150k in future advertising (the seller is in the tour business)

No indication if the new owners plan to keep the polka music format
