How about Obama nominating Hillary to the court?

With the death of “Nino” my greatest fear for my country has been realized. With the week Republican establishment Obama will “steamroll” his candidate. O f this I have no doubt. No one in the establishment will stand up to him. Our nation is about to enter the darkest periods of our short existence. Total collapse due to Socialist takeover is now a visible reality. I am sorry to sound so negative. I am 76 years old and have seen our freedoms eroded by a lawless government. Good is bad and bad is good. I am grateful old age doesn’t last long. But, I fear for my grandkids and their children.

I was discussing with my female friend in California why the Supreme Court has 6 Catholics and 3 Jewish people, despite the country being majority Protestant. Outside a few communities like Cubans in Florida, Catholics generally support Democrats.

With six Catholics making only minor tweaks to abortion, that’s never going to change. It puzzles me why Republicans keep jumping at the bait, like a raccoon who won’t let go of the shiny piece of aluminum holding it in the trap. Encourage liberals to have no children and men to be transgender and liberalism is self limiting. Billy Graham should be encouraging his flock to be fruitful and multiply and supporting families who want to have 9 children.

…I mean weak establishment. Should have proof-read it. My apologies.

Back to the debate – I watched most of the South Carolina debate. Donald Trump in the polls is leading Cruz 2:1. Cruz is getting the self-identified TEA party vote and Trump is getting broad support from everyone else.

Trump completely doesn’t understand the South. “I’m a rich guy from New York” isn’t going to resonate at all – it rekindles the flames of why people have confederate flags in their pickup trucks. When he started getting boos, he started treating the audience as the enemy. He took a gratuitous cheap shot at Senator Lindsey Graham. The people in that room were the people who worked to get Graham elected and an Indian woman as Governor. As much as I don’t care for John McCain’s sauna partner, Trump was a guest in South Carolina and dissing the Senators of the South is exactly what could cause loss of the Senate, even if Trump won the election in November.

There are 24 Republicans at risk, only 10 Democrats. The Senate is 54-46 at the moment. A loss of 5 races would result in a Democratic controlled Senate. There is no way a President Trump will have a 60 seat majority to get past filibusters. 8 of the 10 Democrats are extremely unlikely to lose. The best possible outcome is 56 Republicans. Alienate any of them, and you might have an Arlen Spector situation where elected Republicans quit the Party. The Party and the country are not nearly as Conservative as Fox News incites people to believe.

If I recall, the cheap shot at Lindsey Graham was related Graham’s endorsement of John Ellis Bush Bush, a candidate that has run $24 million dollars of ads against Mr Trump, per Mr Trump in the debate last night. Mr Trump was on the same mission last night that Mr Perot was on in 1992. That was Perot with only one r and one t. We are blessed here at SRG to two of each.

For some reason, I now want a cracker. Polly crackers.

May we live in interesting times.

I asked my friend in California if she thought BMW should close its plant in South Carolina. They’re foreigners after all. There is no such thing as American cars and hasn’t been for 25 years. Trump is so out of touch with reality, but that’s what his fans want

      >”,,,I now want a cracker. Polly crackers.”<

LOL , I had some 'Cheeze It' crackers during the debate. That was an annoying debate.
I think ol' Kasich had it right, when he said they are going to dic around and lose the election.
Yeah I hated hearing that Justice Scalia had passed. I think someone needs to tell Alex Jones its not 'Anthony' Scalia, LOL (heard that on sunday evening)

      have a good one

      • Fred Stiening says:

You are expecting accuracy from Alex Jones?

On the other hand, his version of truth is looking much more real each year.

If you can handle the truth, look up Len Blavatnik on Google, at the FEC and think about the Super Bowl halftime show.

  6. briand75 says:

A tragedy. I cannot condone the court going liberal again. Sorry Mr. Trump, but you wore the Emperor’s new clothes in the debate and I shiver thinking about the criteria you would use to nominate someone for Antonin Scalia’s position.

God rest Antonin and comfort his family.

    • Fred Stiening says:

Bush folks leaked an internal poll showing that trump went from a 2:1 lead over Cruz to being equal, more or less.

In the unlikely event Trump won, to do all of his glorious things, he will need Rubio, Cruz, Graham and McCain’s support. He might get Sanders to help him…

This was the same problem with Perot. When you run against the “establishment”, both sides will be your enemy if you win. It feels to be outraged and scream your anger, but change has to come from the inside.

Warner music was purchased from Thomas H Lee and Bain Capital – the same two firms that currently control iHeart (Clear Channel).

For bonus points, do searches combining Blavatnik and politicians – for instance “Clinton”

The Beyoncé thing praising the Black Panther Party begins to become a tapestry if you know the predictions of the John Birch Society

    You got that right, Fred!
