Let’s make a deal

Rubio significantly underperformed the polls and estimates on March 8th. If the objective is to get Trump out of the way, Rubio needed to put his big boy pants on and leave the campaign over the weekend.

While Cruz won a surprisingly strong victory in Idaho, Trump lost no ground as he picked up the losses from Rubio and Carson

Next Tuesday is the make or break day – it’s the winner take all primaries

Florida 99 Winner take all Trump +20
Illinois 69 Proportional Trump +10
Missouri 52 Winner take all (No poll?)
N Carolina 72 Proportional Trump +10
Ohio 66 Winner take all Trump +3 (Kasich)

Thr train is running out of track, the plane is running out of runway, Richard Petty is running out of laps…

The remaining primaries with 50+ delegates or WTA

Arizona March 22 58 WTA Trump +6 old poll
    (Senator McCain may lose primary)
Wisconsin April 5 42 WTA Trump +10
New York April 19 95 Pro Trump +25
Penn April 26 71 Trump +3
Delaware 26 WTA No poll
Maryland 38 WTA Trump +17
Indiana May 3 57 No poll
California June 7 172 WTA Cruz +3 over Trump
Montana 27 WTA No poll
New Jersey 51 WTA Trump +17
S Dakota 29 WTA No poll

To summarize, the RNC has a pretty binary choice at this point – get Kasich and Rubio to quit now and fully back Cruz and maybe win Florida and Ohio for Cruz OR get used to Donald Trump as the candidate. Delay just ensures a Trump victory or chaos at the convention.

Probably more important is in the remaining debates, it would one on one, with Cruz bringing more clarity why Trump is not a Conservative and not a Republican. Cruz needs to win some states by 50+ percent

The only factor is the GOP Establishment. They can destroy the Republican Party at the Convention and give Hillary the win. I believe that is their plan – truly.

  2. Parrott says:

I agree with Briand. I also think that those loonies like McConnell, Rove, Ryan, and to a large part the press/media with countless other minions, insiders & cronies that follow these embedded Establishment types. They know they will get to keep their jobs as they sell themselves off to be the fighters against the democrat cronies and supposed reform. We know its not true. Look at the growth of Government during the Bushee administration. They had House, Senate and President did nothing helpful for the little guy, increase spending and grow national debt.
If he was going to do war, he should have put the nation on a war footing like WW2 , to control cost and let people know they were F-ing serious. But they were not serious. It was sort of a lets have this war on the side, the rest of you continue your normal way of life and go out and spend money. That didn’t get us very far and a extra-ordinary amount of middle class and lower middle class people bore the weight of the so called war on terror. Howard Dean, Bernie, Hillary, Che’, Rove, Bill Krystol, Levine, Beck, tim cook, bezos, zuckerburg, Page & Flo from progressive all continued as status quo.

So any pick of establishment candidate, RINO or democrat/socialist get you the same. More debt, no change in bureaucracy, and the same insiders and hanger-on-ers, in that Washington crowd get to grow rich in the shadows.
I think that is why so many people are on the Trump bus. A billionaire from Queens NY? Southerners voting for him ? Who would have thought someone from Queens is who real republicans and independents have hung their hope in rebuilding this country.
I think the obo administration has already done irreversible harm to the automotive industry and many other industries and Mr. trump won’t be able to fix it. No one wants clown cars. SUV’s are big sellers
Obo and the epa is trying to kill the pick-up truck with over-engineered, lowered to the ground, crinkle wagons. Do you really need 8 gears? Do you really need Horse piss to spray into an over complected exhaust system, supposedly to get rid of carbon dioxide particulates that just fall to the ground ? Trees & Plants love this stuff.
I think 2005 – 2008 was the high point for diesels, except for Ford; ( because they had those time bombs under the hood of their super duties, but they designed a motor in house that is strong and reliable now, but it has plumbing of a nuclear reactor.)
You had really good fuel mileage in the golden years of the diesel with lost of torque & power. Then they came out with Tier 2 & 3 EPA requirements for exhaust regulations. Tier 3 started making trucks way more expensive. That last little bit of exhaust, the last 20 % is really expensive to eliminate ( if you can eliminate it ). That last 20 % is more expensive to control than the first 80% ever was!
Hell it hurt railroads too. NS bought used worn out SD90’s UP was getting rid of. NS was going to rebuild them de-rated lower Hp, so they could be tier 2 instead of expensive tier 4. ( That was before the War on Coal). Now they are in the yard in Roanoke VA, with 120 other locomotives as surplus. but I digress,
The diesel engine manufactures hit diminishing returns with EGR valves and Urea required to be poured in your second tanks on the trucks to spray the exhaust to keep particulates down. Fuel mileage dropped, expense went up , reliability went down, complication went up. Lose Lose. Thanks EPA you jack asses. It will be years before the technology catches up.
I’d love to have one of those VW Jetta diesel, those are really good cras. Screw the epa. Excellent fuel mileage power, reliability and very little exhaust. EPA regulations are just a controlling/punishing function of the obo administration, keep good inexpensive diesels out of American driveways. Sort of like the OBO telling IRS to go after patriot, Tea Party groups & Dr Ben Carson after he spoke out about the administration at the national prayer breakfast a couple years ago.

so I hate hate establishment. Don’t know if I can trust Trump yet, although Limbaugh liked him yesterday March 9 on his show. LOL
what is a American to do ?

I don’t hear anyone, including Trump, wanting to unwind the Federal control over every aspect of our lives. Here is a start – how about backing off car pollution requirements by 10% and setting CAFE requirements at 2000 levels for the next 20 years.

That is an excellent compromise ! Yeah I figured Trump may want to mention less government is good. Reagan said that a lot, until they tried to take him out.
That convention this summer will be chaos. supposed to be a lot of protesters there.
Cruz is really aligning with a lot of establishment types,

It would be interesting if American Samoa decides if Trump wins. It’s safe to say the first ballot count will be close IF the RNC compels all the unbound delegates to vote against him. That seems unlikely. California is going to end up being where the Trump run ends, one way or the other.

California is a split winner take all – each Congressional district is WTA and then a group of WTA at the state level The Washington Times “wishful thinking” is Rubio will win in most of the Congressional districts. They likely have access to private polling data
