Electoral College Math

In the end, the national preference polls have nothing to do with who is elected President. The electoral “college” has 538 votes. You need 270 to win. Traditionally each state votes as a winner take all block.

There is zero chance Republicans will win in California, so it doesn’t matter if the margin is one vote or 10 million votes.

Real politicians have to live in the real world. As much as people want to believe in principles, if you don’t win the election, you can fume for four more years at the “RINOs”

If you assume any state Barack Obama won by 55% is safe for Democrats and any state with less than 45% is Safe Republican, here is where we stand from the Democratic Perspective

If you narrow the “up for grabs” range to 48-52%, either Democrat beats all 4 Republicans
