America Loves Sports, but Charlotte loves Golf

This is the week of the Wells Fargo PGA event, which I was so rudely reminded of on my trip to the grocery store. They shut down the road that runs past the golf course at the country club.

Somebody important must be in town, other than the golfers. As I was returning home, traffic stopped for a caravan unlike anything I have ever seen in Charlotte. It began with four police motorcycles and a car blocking the intersection, followed by four fire trucks, more police cars – marked and unmarked, followed by a van with one way glass and a bus, followed by more police cars.

This I would expect on Park Avenue in New York City when the president is in town, but not here in sleepy Charlotte. They were turning into an office park near the big hospital near the interstate exit.

If you plan to watch the PGA event this weekend, keep an eye out for the big fat guy wearing a white John 3:16 T-shirt. That might be me.

With that shirt, how about a red baseball cap with a slogan from the two Corinthians?

      Great again idea you have.

Something I learned just 36 hours ago. Do you know what happened six (6) days after Mitt Romney was defeated by President Obama in 2012?

It was on that date less that a week after the election that Donald Trump applied for the Trademark for the slogan “Make America Great Again”.

When the press tells you he is all ad hoc, a dummy and has now plans, you are a fool to believe it.

Found the explanation. A 20 year old volunteer firefighter who died of smoke inhalation in a fire is being buried tomorrow. The funeral home is where the procession was headed.
