We are approaching showdown time. Trump is going to meet with Ryan, current speaker of the House.
If this were China or North Korea, the leader would demand public statements of loyalty from the senior party officials and senior military officers. Of course, Trump is not President yet.
The Constitution does not require the Speaker of the House to be a current member of the House, only that the House elects the Speaker. The Speaker of the House presides over the Convention in July. Trump has no real option here except to demand that Ryan step down, unless Ryan becomes submissive and lets Trump rub his belly. Demanding that Ryan step down would be wildly supported by a large swath of Republicans. House members then have a clear choice. If they vote to keep Ryan in power, Trump is free to go nuclear.

I think the elites and RINO’s are up to no good. If we get rid of Ryan, I wonder if he goes out as third party. If the elites truly don’t care about the country – that’s what they will do. Go ahead – get rid of Ryan anyway. Anyone can give the country away to Obama and there aren’t any Lincoln Republicans left (Note: Lincoln did major damage to the U.S. – good Google exercise for a rainy day).
In short, he disregarded the Constitution and became a dictator. While he did end slavery, he did it at a tremendous cost to both human life and the rule of law and it would have ended within a few years anyway as factory automation made it no longer economical to run plantations of slaves.
One lasting legacy that is the root of our current problems is that no one any longer represents the state governments in Washington DC. Until shortly after the war between the states, each state government sent two people. Without that check and balance, the federal government has expanded in size and started dictating to states.
The 17th amendment was pushed by William Randolph Hearst 40 years later

Hearst was a Democrat
Here is a start:
“New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.”

Paul Ryan was Romney’s VP choice. All the stars are aligning
New poll today in Georgia has Trump vs Hillary as a tie. Georgia is not a “safe republican” state – Obama lost in 2012, but had 45% of the vote.
The “safe Republican” states are Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Utah, Nebraska, West Virginia, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming
“Safe Democratic states” are New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, Hawaii, Rhode Island, DC and Vermont
Donald Trump is in Washington State today campaigning
My guess is that Trump will be told if he doesn’t step aside, Romney and Ryan will announce officially they are running on Friday. Ryan didn’t want to be Speaker anyhow.
Sheldon Adelson now supports Trump

West Virginia safe republican state. Isn’t that something !
I need to move from Virginia !
They have closed so many mines. Norfolk Southern may sell off some of their core lines in West Virginia.

At least for President… The legacy of Robert S Byrd still lives on
The explosion in natural gas from fracking probably will permanently displace a lot of the need for coal for power generation. Whether China still needs it is speculative – the Chinese coal is very low quality, hence the Pittsburgh like pollution I grew up in as a child.
The expanded Panama Canal is still on track to open in about a month. That should make it more practical to ship the coal to China without using rail
Paul Ryan says he’ll step aside as chairman of the convention if Trump asks. He also telegraphs that a Conservative third party run would be a disaster. Good day for Trump.
Cruz plans to focus on making transgender bathrooms a national issue. NC Governor Pat McCrory is counter suing the Department of Justice.
LOL – bathroom identity. Now that’s a real issue. Odd how Loretta Lynch has homed in on this one issue suing NC. What is the deal trying to tie racism to a law that says men use the men’s room and women use the women’s room? It is beyond reality.
Its a bizarre world we live in. In someone’s mind a gender issue (or sexual identity issue depending on your perspective) is transformed into a “race” issue. How much longer can we blame whitey for all that is wrong in the world.
By the way, securing our border and stopping the flow if tax money to illegal aliens is what kind of issue? If you said an security issue or economic issue, or a fiscal issue, they you are whitey the boogeyman. The correct Comcast (MSLSD / Telemundo) answer is “a race issue”.
Back in 1964, the Southern Democrats tried to scuttle the Civil Rights Act by amending it to also provide Civil Rights protection to women (regardless of race). They expected Republicans to balk at the change, and then take the blame for blocking LBJ’s plan. Republicans responded with “no problem!” and passed the law.
To this day, this is an irritant in the black Communisty if you listen to Black Talk radio. The theme is usually along the lines that the Civil Rights act was a step toward reparations for slavery, not intended to protect rich white women (like Hillary Clinton). By adding women, when Affirmative Action came along, employers realized that black women were more helpful for achieving minority hiring goals, leaving black men locked out of employment and their role as providers to their family
Then you add on black immigrants like Barack Obama Sr with absolutely no claim to 400 years of Slavery in America, everything gets muddled. Is a black immigrant from Cuba entitled to reparations because the Spanish held his ancestors as slaves?
The problem with race based laws and gender based laws is that they are race based and gender based, rather than looking at the individual.
When does Affirmative Action based on race and gender end? Women are the majority of the college graduates and have been for years.
A more fair approach would be to help people in need regardless of their skin color or gender…. and to help people become independent and free regardless of their skin color or gender.
Look at the latest Hillary commercials – they have people reading a list of negative things that Trump had said about people that are women, therefore you are to believe Trump is a sexist and likes women less than men. I think people are too smart for that and will remember “low energy Bush”, “little Marco”, “lyin’ Ted”, child molester Ben Carson, and that he made fun of Rand’s face as well as Carly’s.
BTW – Have you seen Trump’s new ad against Hillary? It has a memorable ending and is worth 30 seconds of your time regardless of your political views. It is on this page. I think it will resonate and be remembered by voters:

Ah. The specialist in the decathlon, and now the deSomethingElse.
What a poor choice of a new name in Caitlyn. I would have suggested DeCaitlyn.
