You probably heard him as the morning host on WCBM in Baltimore. Tom was one of the shrinking pool of old timers who actually know more than how to search Wikipedia and refresh Drudge Report.
He had back surgery which wound up causing a massive stroke. He was 73 years old.
He was one of the best. I will miss his intelligence and his humor.
I caught his weekend show in Philadelphia a few times. About 20 years ago, he worked weekdays in Baltimore and weekends in Philadelphia on WWDB – the first FM talk radio station in the United States. Wiki says the Philly gig lasted from 1996 – 1997.
Tom was also on WOR in New York for a spell. He was a former play-by-play voice of baseball’s Baltimore Orioles. In recent years he was Mark Levin’s number one choice when he needed someone to fill in. He was one of my favorites.
