Probably few people know, but Phyllis still did a radio show on Saturdays on the Bott Radio Network. Phyllis had a fractured hip in 2009 – an injury which few people recover from. Often a hip fracture is the symptom rather than the disease. The hip spontaneously fractures, and people assume the hip fracture happened upon hitting the ground.

Osteoporosis? Seems the odd stress might have caused such a thing in her hip.
She was a feisty activist for conservatism.
The reason for the dismal recovery rate from hip fractures is calcium loss is mostly a one way street. You can slow the loss of calcium, but restoring it is difficult. When the person is immobile because of the fracture, other things start to fail.
