What follows is a Youtube video of Joplin, Missouri I found while cruising radio station web sites.
Someone happened to have a video driving down a main street through the area where the tornado went through – and they have a split screen of before and after.
It’s actually a pretty positive video. It’s clear those bible toting, gun clinging people from the Show Me state are rebuilding and getting on with their lives.
It’s hard for me to even watch this. This footage reminds me too much of what I saw after Katrina on the MS coastline (where I was living prior to the storm). It’s an incredible thing to have to cope with, and my sympathy goes out to them.
There was a rural station somewhere in the Midwest that has (had?) “Remember When” on their web site, showing a slideshow of their town back when someone lived in it. It’s one of those song moments that you remember where you were at the time.
