Italy to join bombing campaign

Italy is moving toward more involvement in toppling its former colony.   It is agreeing to use its air force [insert steretypical joke here] to bomb Libya.  They and France have announced they will no longer buy hydrocarbons sold by Qadaffi.    Why buy what you can steal for free?     Qaddafi controls the natural gas pipeline that runs from Western Libya to Italy under the Mediterraean and supplies a substantial part of the natural gas used in Southern Europe.   Good thing its not the middle of winter.

Oh my….   somewhere around 1/2 of all of Italy’s electricity comes from Natural Gas.    Better hurry up building those windmills and solar panels.

In unrelated news, one of the leaders Sufian Ibrahim Ahmed Hamuda Bin Qumu has shown up among the Libyan Rebels is a former Guantanamo detainee who wants to be our “Ally”.   He is a narcotics trafficker and worked with Ronald Reagan and Osama Bin Ladin fighting the Russians in Afghanistan, known worldwide for its high quality opium products.

Perhaps this was the whisper of Al Queda that was mentioned a few weeks ago.

I think Richard Perle and William Kristol should dispatch a ship of our finest surface to air missiles to Benghazi and hand them out ASAP.   What could possibly go wrong with that plan?

Yeah, and what about all their cooking and food prep? How many cook with gas?

Cut off their stove & oven, and Italians will be ‘off the table’ faster than a hot meatball. 🙂

Hitler had to bail them out in N. Africa in the 40’s. Who will have to do it this time?

I think the last time Italy bombed an African country was in the 30’s against Abyssinia (Ethiopia)…
