How much would you pay for a dozen cupcakes?

There is another parking spot close to Southpark mall where two pokéstops are in range without leaving your car. It is in a somewhat high end strip mall that seems to specialize in wedding accessories when the hot young chicks land a sugar daddy and bought their jewelry across the street.

In the fuzzy background, you might see Gigi’s cupcakes. This has become a real niche business.

I bet they have no locations in Vietnam next to the cashew processing factory. You will be glad to know they offer gluten free cupcakes for the healthy minded consumer.

Mmmmmm – Cupcakes! We have a similar cupcake store locally. Does a very nice job with the cupcakes. These are used for birthdays, weddings and all manner of special occasions. They are not inexpensive unfortunately. They are delicious.

I don’t do pokestops, so I can’t confirm their presence, but I could think of worse places 🙂

Pokéstops and Pokémon exist even if you don’t believe in them, kind of like Peter Pan

The game is built on a platform used by a much older game called ingress. It is nominally a more adult game. Depending on how you choose to interpret the “meaning”, it is a global game between two factions – the Enlightened and the Resistance. Good and evil? Progressives and Conservstives? Tyranny vs Freedom?

The enlightened are gathering energy to guide the planet to a better place, the Resistance believe there is more to the motives of the enlightened than they are telling, so the resistance try to take territory and energy away from the Enlightened.

The basic real world purpose of Ingress is to get people to walk to collect the energy. You can’t just sit in your car eating cupcakes. They have gatherings out in the real world where people meet each other. People who don’t know the game is going on don’t know why people seem fascinated with the fountain and statues around their buildings.

Ouch! $35.00 That is a little steep. Heck I will make my own. No, VietNam will not have that but they have the best French Bakeries you can imagine. I spent 60 days back about 12 years ago and lived in front of a bakery. You could buy a dozen pastries for 10,000 Dong which at the time was like $0.60. Not only did I gained 23 lbs. but I betcha my blood sugar was running 200 and above. After much searching I found one in Austin but not only prices were American but the quality was not there. If you are lucky enough to have one in your city give it a try.

And here’s a pic (taken from the roof in “our” home there) of my favorite place in old SaiGon (or HoChiMihn City as it is called today)

One of my time wasters is an app called Cookie Crush. Each level features a different French dessert. They sure love their pastries. I’m on level 850.

In a really strange marketing strategy, the game changed hands and now features Scooby Doo and the Flintstones

Okay so a small slice of the world – Pho (spelling?) I remember these little carts in the streets that sold this noodle dish which is like a very thick soup. Do they still have Pho in the streets or cafes?
