So it looks like Republicans will nominally control 53 US Senate seats (a loss of one), but it is doubtful they will support Trump’s agenda.

The stock market and Peso are walking back some of their panic

  2. briand75 says:

What exactly is a “Republican”? I think that concept has gone bust. The markets were caught following the polls – not a bright idea. I expect a full recovery once the Trump Administration begins to take shape.

  3. Fred Stiening says:

Will Glenn Beck cry today? Will Michael Savage claim he elected Trump? Will Berkeley call Trump a racist?

    • Parrott says:

Beck is , Dont celebrate to greatly, but we had to look at those styrofoam columns for obo.
I went to the polling place this morning and got the trump signs
for my parents and brother, and a couple uncles, ( yeah they wanted them) .

I was watching scott pelly and nora cry, and NBC was in distress. Praying mantis, from Louisiana was stuttering on NBC,
      it was good,
Plante is on a roll this morning

  4. WesternMA says:

At long last white middle-class working people have a win! Perhaps we would have preferred another messenger, but we love the message.

  5. JayMar says:

The media is abuzz today. What an incredible day this is, totally unbelievable. Now I hope he announces some of his choices for the cabinet. I hope to see Christie, Carson, Bolton, even Cruz in his list. Can’t wait for Loretta Lynch to be sent back to the private sector. I hope he can really clean the swamp.

  6. Disappointed with the NC governor results. McCrory seemed like a good guy.

  7. TheChairman says:

So, what was his -true- margin of victory to overcome the liberal vote stuffing?

Washtenaw & Wayne counties (MI) still holding ballot boxes to tip for Hillary.

  8. JayMar says:

Well the race has started for 2020. There was a report this morning of someone asking Moochelle Antoinette to run in 2020. I wish we had just one term for 8 years and stop this politicking until a couple of years before the election, that way we could concentrate on the people for at least 6 years. Better yet I wish we had a military takeover, but our military is so weak now. We need a Patton.

  9. JayMar says:

LOL – Hillary is going to concede at last, but not from her glass tower but from the Peninsula Hotel. I cannot wait. I would love to hear someone yell: “LOCK HER UP!.”

  10. JayMar says:

Young Fidel Castro at Hillary’s concession speech.

  11. Parrott says:

LOL I predict that John Galt Florida will jump off a milk create . he was a never trumper. Cher is supposed to leave the country. is a Loser ‘L’ They carried hillary and dem water for the whole damn year. They suck, just leave and take Lebron, Bruce springsteen, Katy perry, James Taylor, and that punk bon-jovi and get the hell out. Don’t forget michael moore & madonna w/free BJ’s. ( she said it, I didn’t ) LOL
( I had to do a LOL) Praying mantis–> James carvelle, just go away with the clintons.
Maybe sheriff Joe in AZ will have a place in Immigrations ? that would be funny. I hope Gov McCrory gets a cabinet post or something good.

    Go away Beck

  12. Fred Stiening says:

Just got my daily marching orders from the CFR. They are in shock, to put it mildly.

  13. JayMar says:

I am astonished how much prep is there for Hillary’s concession speech. The colors, the sound, the appearance of it all. Why???? Just to see this harridan stand there and finally stop denying she lost? She is ugly, wrinkly, and fat, there is no beauty there internal or external. Just get her through and out of the door. No amount of preparation could make her attractive or sound even real. Just git her r’ done and outta there!

  14. Fred Stiening says:

The “bluff charge” didn’t work. The US market is close to unchanged

  15. Fred Stiening says:

Steel Dynamics is up 8%…. something about a big steel order for a wall

  16. JayMar says:

I have so much hope for a deconstruction of our emasculated military, intelligence community, and a healing to our society. I know this last one is a pipe dream. There will be many such as the BLM, et al who will never heal and will always find reasons to continually be offended and who are deep into the social justice scam and the indignation business.

  17. Parrott says:

–> CNN….Former president GW Bush just called Trump and congratulated him. “They had a very good conversation for about 10 minutes.”
Kellyanne Conway said ’43’ was sorry he didn’t vote for Donald.
    ummmm hmmmm

Maybe the bushes are gone now?

  18. JayMar says:

I think the Bushes are done, as well as the Clintons. The Obamas are an unknown factor. I think the Democrat-Socialists will push for Moochelle. They are already doing it today. But… as we begin to repeal all of Obama’s “legacy” and we see the increase in jobs, the protection of our people, a healing will take place, at least I hope so.

  19. JayMar says:

WELL…. I HAVE FOUND WALDO…I MEAN HUMA. She’s on the front row at the hotel.

  20. JayMar says:

Kaine just called her “civil rights lawyer.” DISBARRED. LOL!

  21. Fred Stiening says:

Stock market is going up! 💸🎉📈

  22. Fred Stiening says:

Barack Obama is addressing the country

Unrelated, Chicago Mayor demanded and is getting half an hour next Monday night to talk address the city on every radio station in the city

  23. Fred Stiening says:

If we didn’t have the video of Hillary stumbling on 9/11 in New York, would she have won?

  24. Fred Stiening says:

My food stocks are in the toilet while the stock market is going up – does the market think 20 million people are going off food stamps soon?

    • Fred Stiening says:

Cargill is down 27% today. Ouch.

Exports of food are a big part of the farming business. Welcome to the benefits of trade and tariff wars. Maybe the farmers in Iowa can start growing Arugula

  25. Fred Stiening says:

National Review Online is amusing in a twisted way

  26. Fred Stiening says:

    Stop the presses!

Hillary has about 200,000 vote lead in the popular vote!

Of course, she wasted 2 million excess votes in California. Democrats need a reverse migration out of California

  27. JayMar says:

    Janet Reno, the prophet

  28. Fred Stiening says:

My real estate related stocks were hit the hardest. I made the point back in 2008 that if 10 million Mexicans went back home, it would seriously hurt the rental occupancy rates. That’s not to say not to do it, just realize there are consequences.

I wandered through the apartment complex next door looking for Pokémon a couple days ago. I picked up a pretty drastic change, not for the good. The place seemed quite empty, the cars in the lot were older low cost types and there is a sign out at the street “under new management”. The exodus from Charlotte may have picked up a lot of momentum.

I also spent about an hour in the parking lot of the library across the street from Zack’s hamburgers. There was a steady stream of black men traveling alone walking with backpacks going back and forth into the convenience store on the corner. There aren’t places to live nearby and they were not in vehicles, but the LRV stop is right there. I’m not quite sure what I was seeing, but it seemed like a bad sign. I think Zack’s days are numbered.

  29. Parrott says:

I saw this on another forum:
“Mark Levin is busy rewriting history tonight. Mark is on the radio claiming it wasn’t until he held “Trumps feet to the fire” after the nomination that Trump “became conservative”. A hero in his own mind. ”

    • Fred Stiening says:

I assume this may have been in response to the topic I set for the show tonight. I guess he thinks his listeners have no memory. He might be right.

John Batchelor’s show should be exceedingly interesting. The phrase “passive aggressive” is widely misused by people who find that throwing the accusation around carries power.

Last night as the Trump victory was unfolding, Batchelor suddenly broke his rule to never use Trump’s name on the show. One guest in the middle of this was a woman (she sounded young but probably isn’t) who was totally freaking out that Trump is an idiot – that Trump doesn’t understand the world is a dangerous place unless we tell all of the countries what to do and overthrow or kill their leaders if they don’t comply. Trump TOTALLY understands that she is the problem, not Putin.

Batchelor consistently has been undermining Trump for the past year while pretending to be supportive. Trump didn’t spend a billion dollars on Batchelor’s consulting friends, yet won. Call me skeptical about Batchelor suddenly being supportive. Batchelor takes great satisfaction in manipulating people who think they are smarter than him.

  30. Fred Stiening says:

As it turns out, if McCrory loses, it had nothing to do with transgender bathrooms – it was because of toll roads.

North Carolina having no toll roads is close to a religious issue. I’m not sure if we even have any toll bridges. A while back, the state let a company build a private toll over near Raleigh. But now the State planners want to create “public private partnerships” to turn existing free public interstates into defacto toll roads. The private company will pay to add a traffic lane in each direction, then charge a toll to use their express lane, but most of the cost was borne by the original construction and eminent domain land acquisition back in the 1970s.

McCrory did not push back on this process for a toll road from the affluent lake Norman suburbs north of the city. My memory is the cost of adding the extra lanes was about $100 million. By the company putting up the money, they get an exclusive right, including a veto over the state adding more free lanes later. At the time, the state had a $400 million surplus that could have funded it.

McCrory lost badly in Huntersville, the area most directly affected by this decision.

    • Fred Stiening says:

The story mentions $660 million. I think the $100 million was the cost if the state cancelled the deal without cause

Another boondoggle in the same area is a plan to start commuter rail service. Where do they think they live – New Jersey?

      • CC1s121LrBGT says:

NJ went from the second lowerst gas tax to the sixth highest on November 1, thanks to an increase signed by Trump advisor Gov Chris Christie.  Be glad Trump picked Mike Pence instead.

As shown with this link , more than half of the operating expenses alone (not counting capital expenditures) for the wall street commuters are paid on their behalf.  They also don’t pay their share of NJ income taxes compared to their neighbors as NJ allows them to deduct the state and city income taxes they pay in NY – the result is they are paying virtually no taxes in NJ.
The kicker is this new story about the the Democrat bait and switch

Rather than improving traffic, they plan to clog it up by using the money for slow light rail in Democrat controlled cities.

        • Fred Stiening says:

Will they let you pump your own gas now?

          • CC1s121LrBGT says:

Still illegal. Years ago before I lived here, I started to pump and the door of the service station flew open with the owner running full speed toward me shouting STOP! STOP! as he waived his hands frantically.

He told me he had just been fined thousands of dollars because undercover state employees had witnessed someone pumping their own gas. I breathed a sigh of relief hearing that having thought I was about to do something to blow myself up at the pump.

With gas prices high now, it would be great if we could at least avoid paying for full service.

        • Parrott says:

I hate that for you CC. I had read that ‘Chris’ believes in global warming and doesn’t like ‘coal’ .
          He better wise up.

          • CC1s121LrBGT says:

Thanks. Enjoy your Virginia gas prices. You and South Carolina have the lowest prices on the east coast. Also Georgia is significantly lower than Florida since Florida does not have an income tax. Important considerations when deciding were to tank up as snow birds drive to Florida for the winter.

            • Fred Stiening says:

During the brief time Democrats controlled North Carolina, they jacked up the gas taxes. Gasoline in SC is about $.15 a gallon cheaper now and they have the roads to prove it. The main purpose for the Charlotte LRV system is to provide free parking for South Carolina residents who work in Charlotte and pay no property taxes and buy their gasoline in SC. Much of the cost of expensive highway projects has been due to a surge in cross border commuting.

            • CC1s121LrBGT says:

NJ is a bit different. Straight line distance from Pennsylvania to the Atlantic Ocean is less than 37 miles at one point. The city boundaries of the two largest cities on the east coast border NJ as does the largest city in Delaware. It will be a case study of elastic demand. Whenever I would visit a gas station near the border, it was hard to find a car with a NJ license plate. Also, New Englanders heading south would buy gasoline here because Virginia was too far to go on a single tank from Boston. NJ residents would always top off the tank before heading on a long drive out of state. All that stops now, and the revenue will go to neighboring states.

            • Fred Stiening says:

I used to live a mile from the Michigan Indiana border (New Buffalo) and people regularly went over the border for a variety of reasons. Michigan used to stake out gasoline stations looking for people loading up on beer and cigarettes. A large part of the Michigan / Ontario border traffic is Canadians filling up gas tanks and other assorted items overtaxed in Canada. Detroiters used to go to Windsor for the strip bars. Walls – we need more walls!

    • Parrott says:

Probably Cornelius too. That interchange they rebuilt at Cornelius ( catawba ave. ) and 77 is Bat Guano. If you cannot build a interchange without a stoplight, then you need to get another job.

My High School Daughter was shown a youtube video about Trump today in English class. “Last week tonight with John Oliver”. The English teacher said it was important for the kids to see what a bad man he is.
I haven’t called yet but my out of the box response would be to insist he show an equally slanted video about Hilary and let the kids make up their own mind.
    What say you?
