Just a ball park number – the Federal debt is approaching $20 trillion – the population of Oregon is about 4 million out of 320 million, so their share of the debt is about $250 billion. If Oregon acquires $250 billion in US treasury securities and turns them over to the US Treasury, I say we can cut them free.
Clear cutting all the old growth forests and allowing off shore oil exploration probably would not raise enough money.
