Tripoli: We think Islamists are taking over

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/31/world/africa/31tripoli.html

In a completely unexpected turn, the “rebel” fighters in Western Libya are being pushed aside by troops backed by Qatar (the home of Al Jazeera)…  the rebels are showing signs of potential to fragment around traditional tribal lines, and not “taking orders” from Benghazi.   This is what Qaddafi has known all along.

In a “fair” national election, the people in Benghazi make up only 1 million of a population of 6-8 million, depending on how you count.    If it is truly a “democratic” movement and everyone in the country is allowed to run for office, the people who want to reinstall the British created “monarchy” of Benghazi will lose in a major way.

So is it about elections or military domination through the use of brute force and reimposing colonial occupation?   Watch how fast things devolve against NATO when Iraqi nationalists begin to realize the trap they stepped into.

Those are not Islamists taking over. They are young people yearning for democracy, according to Sheik Obama. I trust the Comrade.

Hahaha! Never thought I’d get misty-eyed for Lady Pillory, pants suit, witch’s cackle, thunder-ankles and all. Meanwhile our Nero resins up his bow for another long, languorous and lugubrious etude.

    Duh !

President Zero & the White House amateur hour circus strikes again. Now how bad do you really have to be to make Hilliary Clinky look good as a viable option for president?

  4. Piquerist says:

Well, at least it’s refreshing to know that we have a strong president in office, even if he is burning the economy down, hooking the population on government opiates, and gutting the military in order to buy “hood” votes with his walking around money. From his stash.
